A 20-year-old woman was grabbed by a stranger and nearly raped near a Bronx park, officials said.

NYPD Special Victims Unit detectives on Friday released an image of the attacker in the hopes that someone would identify him.

The victim was nearing the corner of E. 150th St. and Wales Ave. in the Mott Haven section of the Bronx about 12:15 a.m. Thursday when the attacker, sporting a black baseball cap and a red shirt, grabbed her.

The attack took place near a small fenced-in park next to a parking lot.

The man tried to force himself on the woman, but ran off when she fought back. He was last seen running north on Wales Ave.

The woman wasn’t harmed and refused medical attention when first responders arrived.

Detectives scouring the area for surveillance footage found a photo of the suspect around the time of the attack. Besides the red shirt, the light skinned man was also wearing blue jeans and white sneakers.

Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is urged to call NYPD Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
