Woman rescued from rising waters at Sawyer Point, district fire chief says

A woman was rescued from rising waters at Sawyer Point Sunday morning, according to Cincinnati District Fire Chief Phillip Worsham.

Worsham reported that around 8 a.m., a woman was sleeping on a stage at Sawyer Point when the Ohio River level rose, making it unsafe for her to escape.

According to the National Weather Service, the Tri-State is under a flood watch, and the river has risen to 59.6 feet.

The river is expected to crest at 60 feet on Monday morning.
