A 92-year-old man was found dead amid an intense residential fire in Muscoy on Saturday, May 10, 2025.
“The first arriving engine company reported heavy smoke and flames coming from behind a single-story, single-family home,” according to a SBCFD statement. “Firefighters quickly advanced hose lines to the rear of the property, where they encountered intense fire conditions involving multiple sheds, vehicles, and surrounding debris.”

At one point, firefighters were forced to retreat from positions on the roof due to the intensity of the fire.
Two-dozen firefighters ultimately managed to extinguish the flames.
The cause remained under investigation.
The fire caused an estimated $350,000 in property damage, officials said.
