Get your tote bags ready. Trader Joe’s is opening 21 new stores, including in California

Several cities in California will soon be home to new Trader Joe’s stores as the grocery chain opens new locations nationwide.

The California-based grocery store chain told USA TODAY on April 11 it has already opened two new stores this year and has already announced another 21 set to open soon. The company adds to this list every month, a company spokesperson told USA TODAY.

Trader Joe’s is currently scheduled to open new stores in California this year in the following locations, according to the company’s store locator:

  • Sherman Oaks, California: 14-140 Riverside Drive

  • Tracy, California: 2530 Naglee Road

  • Yucaipa, California: 31-545 Yucaipa Blvd.

  • Tarzana, California: 18-700 Ventura Blvd.

  • Northridge, California: 9224 Reseda Blvd.

These locations join the more than 150 Trader Joe’s stores in California.

Other states that are set to see new Trader Joe’s stores include Alabama, Louisiana, New Jersey, New York, Maryland, Massachusetts, Colorado, Pennsylvania, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Washington and Texas. Washington, D.C. will also be home to two new Trader Joe’s stores.

Trader Joe’s isn’t the only retailer with news.

Walmart announced more details for its planned remodels of 57 stores in California.

The initiative is part of a company goal to remodel more than 650 stores across the United States in 2025, including the California locations. In the past five years Walmart has spent more than $800 million to upgrade stores throughout California.
